SHIPPING AND TRANSIT TIMES
Normally, your order will ship in 1-3 days and will arrive at the destination in 5-10 days. If your order was custom made or out of stock, this process may take longer. You can call us for updates on your order at anytime or get an estimated arrival time on a custom order.
FREIGHT SHIPMENTS VS. REGULAR SHIPMENT
Anything weighing around 100 lbs. and over is usually shipped via LTL Carrier (full sized semi truck). Anything weighing under that would be shipped via a regular USPS, UPS, Fed Ex truck. Usually a freight shipment will require an easy access area to deliver your order. There are some locations that a LTL Carrier does not have easy access to deliver.
DIFFERENT DELIVERY LOCATION TYPES
Residential- A residential address is defined as any address where people live on the premises. It does not matter if a business is being operated from that address, it will still be considered residential if people reside at the same address. The truck driver will normally call you to make sure they have access to your residential address before they attempt delivery.
Commercial- A commercial address is defined as any address that is zoned by local municipalities as commercial real estate. These addresses usually have easy access areas with loading docks for trucks to load and unload shipments.
Limited Access/ Restricted Areas- These areas are defined as areas that have limited or restricted access for a freight delivery to take place. Some areas are too far away from any distribution areas.
Examples of these areas are construction sites, any schools or colleges, churches, jails or prisons, non-public commercial addresses, islands, farms, and extreme rural areas. Please give us a call at 855-896-9453 to make sure there is access to your address before you make your purchase if you are unsure about your location.
UNLOADING FREIGHT SHIPMENTS
Freight shipments usually are loaded onto a pallet and strapped down with metal bands or straps to prevent damage during transit. You will need to be present for receiving the shipment and it is suggested to have some extra hands to help unload your shipment from the semi truck. The truck driver will usually help to a certain extent with unloading the shipment. They are limited due to liability reasons.
INSPECTING YOUR SHIPMENT
Please make sure to inspect your shipment while you are unloading it. You will need to look for any damages that may have occurred during transit. It is very rare that damages occur. You must note any damage on the paperwork the truck driver will have you sign when you receive your shipment. You will be able to open up a claim with the LTL carrier. We will help you with this process. Please IMMEDIATELY contact us if you see there is damage to your shipment upon inspection.
PLEASE NOTE: You will not be able to open up a claim with the LTL Carrier if you sign the receiving paperwork without noting any possible damages.
RETURNS AND REFUNDS
CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY or within 24 hours if you see damages to your shipment. Shipments that arrive damaged need to be documented on the carrier paperwork the truck driver will have you sign. You will need to take pictures of the damage as well and send the pictures to Returns@dogtownsupply.com. We will also assist you further in the next steps to take for receiving a damaged order.
CANCELLED ORDERS
Orders that are cancelled will be subject to a restocking fee. If the item is already shipped, ALL shipping cost to return the item will be the full responsibility of the customer who purchased the item.
